For the
first time, iPad sales were down in the second quarter of 2013.
Apple today
announced that iPad sold 14.6 million worldwide in the second quarter of 2013,
a figure down 14% compared to the same period in 2012. This is the first time
that this indicator appears on the decline since the launch of the iPad in
2010.
I must say
that the star of the tablets is facing opposition increasingly enhanced Android
tablets. Thus Gartner predicts that these could represent up to 42% of sales in
2014, against only 22% in 2012, to the detriment of the iPad.
Apple may
in any case be welcomed its iPhone sales, with 31.2 million smartphones passed
(20%), a record for this time of year. Mac sales are for their down 5%, with
3.8 million computers sold in three months. It sold 14.6 million iPad in
Q2 2013.
