
On the positive side, Lumia sales increased 27% QoQ to 5.6 million units in Q1 2013.
The report shows an overall device shipments of 55.8 million units, or 30% less than what the company has succeeded in the fourth quarter of 2012. Consequently, Devices & Services net sales were down 25% qoq to 2.9 billion €. Nokia Siemens Networks, which is part of Nokia, declined to 30% of net sales QoQ to 2.8 billion €, but its operating margin increased by 7%
Geographically, the best results were recorded Nokia in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region with respective sales of 895 million € and 724 million €. In Europe, the company shipped 11.8 million mobile devices, while in the Asia-Pacific region, it has delivered almost double (23.1 million units).
Sales declined on a year on year in all regions except North America. North American growth was mainly contributed to the success of the Nokia Group.
The Finnish company remains optimistic for the second quarter of the year, expecting a greater availability of its Lumia smartphones and higher compared to first quarter sequential growth.
