After the major reform of its Atom processors unveiled last month, Intel is back with a smart mid-range smartphones. A chip that would directly compete with the ARM, presented yesterday.
Intel unveiled its new processor for smartphones, 22nm Merrifield. This
is Tom Killroy, vice president of sales for the company, which
was presented at Computex
2013 novelty. It
should hit the market early
next year.
During the Intel keynote, Mr. Killroy promised gain substancial performance and therefore reduce the energy consumption due to "a whole new Atom architecture." A functional smartphone has been presented to the public. However, it will take a few months to see land mobile devices incorporating this type of architecture. This is thought to protect the privacy of users of smartphones, thanks to the "integrated sensor hub," said Intel.
The announcement comes just hours after the presentation of the new ARM Cortex-A12 processor. The British who plans to launch its product in 2015, may be capped at the post by the giant Intel, the first chip manufacturer in the world. Especially since these two processors are designed to the same range of smartphones.
