Laboratory giant machine or make money? What is exactly developed by Google in several U.S. cities fiber? A win in the course, but not just yet!
Obviously a little taken
aback by the IHS iSuppli said recently that Google Fiber was an experiment used
to develop the services of the firm analysis, one of its vice-presidents, Milo Medin,
held to be points on the i so that we do not misunderstand. For him, things are
clear: Google Fiber is not a test but a real business for make money one day
soon.
Nuancing still his words, Medin said yes, at launch, Google Fiber was not designed to make profits. Everything has changed when no less than 1100 municipalities have shown interest in the deployment of a network as attractive in their territory. Still, to achieve make money with its fiber, Google must reduce its massive deployment costs. And to achieve this, the company intends to rely on the logistical and financial assistance of the cities where it installs its fiber optic services.
For now, Google Fiber does not support (yet?) Telephony, the costs are estimated as too important by the company. However, television services are indeed available at Google explains that if it remains very expensive to deploy, it is unthinkable to sell providing access to the Internet without a competitive access to TV
