A study shows that most companies are indifferent to the performance of their web and mobile sites.
In 72% of companies, a performance problem on a website is not recovered quickly to those who are responsible for operating it. 80% of respondents (75% in France) to a recent study by Vanson Bourne sponsored by Microfocus / Borland even feel that they are not able to solve a problem before a customer complaint. This rate can reach 90% in the entertainment sector and 87% in the financial services sector.A quarter of respondents did not monitor the performance of web sites and a third that of mobile sites and applications. Yet, on average, respondents indicated abandon the consultation of a site or a sufficiently powerful application after seven seconds.
One of the causes of performance degradation is in peak traffic.
The causes of these are generally well known, but CIOs are not prevented in three quarters of cases lack of communication with the marketing departments. 44% of CIOs neglect, in turn, to simulate the effects of a spike in traffic.
